Does anyone know what the difference is between a muffin and a cupcake?!

The biggest difference is the mixing method!.
Even though they have similar appearances they are quite different!. A cupcake is mixed just like a cake is!. the batter tends to be more runny!.
A muffin is mixed with what is called the "muffin method" where you seperately mix your wet and dry ingredients then combine them together until barely mixed!.
Muffins often have fruit or nuts baked directly in as well!. also their crumb texture is completely different as is the sweetness!. Since muffins do not have icing on top usually they have more sugar in the batter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
