Why brown eggs are healthier than white eggs?!
Answers:
I live in Rhode Island where our local eggs come from Rhode Island Reds!. We used to have a commercial for brown eggs that said 'brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh!."
That's it!. Brown eggs are not nutritionally any healthier than white eggs, but they are more likely to be the freshest eggs in certain areas!. And fresher local eggs are less likely to have been mishandled and harbor bacteria!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the color of the shell has nothing to do with the eggs except that it came from a certain breed of chicken!. Store bought eggs are all white because the breed of chicken used in commercial egg places are Leghorns which are skinny chickens that lay eggs like crazy and never get broody as in want to set on eggs!. Their bodies are not very large so are not ever grown for meat!.
Most chicken breeds that are what is called an all purpose chicken lay brown eggs, some darker than others, some freckled!. Some breeds even lay green or blue eggs!. These kinds of chickens are heavier bodied so can be raised for both meat and eggs and most farmers raise these types of chicken!. The popular breeds are Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, White Rocks, and other breeds!.
All chickens only lay one egg per day, no matter what!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pamela B gave the same answer I was going to say!. I always remember my mom saying that commercial, so growing up we just never had white eggs! LOL (Although we aren't from RI!. !. ) But I don't think there's a difference at all, it's just the type of chicken!. Healthier eggs would be organic, cage free eggs!Www@FoodAQ@Com
They have exactly the same makeup!. If you provide a link, though, I'd be interested!. Even non-free range or non-organic can be brown!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Mine are cage free so the chicken does get to run around is not confined in a small spot and not with all the chicken poop!. Mine says it has less colestrol and I know they taste better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
