This may sound kinda dumb, but can you grind coffee beans in a spice grinder?!
Answers:
You most likely can grind coffee beans in a spice grinder, but you probably would end up in the long run burning out the motor!. You can grind spices in your coffee beans grinder - but you will need to clean it well before using it for coffee again!.
Best way to do that is to wipe out as much as possible by hand, and then put a little bit of white bread in the grinder and grind it - this generally removes all spice flavor that is left!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, use the same rule my mother did with babies and table food:
If it goes in, stays in, goes through, comes out the other end - it's good!.
If you have to force the beans through, though, it's probably NOT good for the grinder, and you may end up breaking it!.
On the other hand, if you have just ground, say, garlic, with the spice grinder, you may want to use something else to grind your beans!. However, I think grinding cinnamon or nutmeg, and then your coffee sounds good!. The only downside is you may get coffee-flavored spices, which may lead to coffee-flavored cookies and muffins!. But to each his own, I suppose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. I would not recommend a spice grinder to be your perminant coffee grinder because the fast spinning creates heat and will slightly burn the coffee!. It will make a decent grind but not a great one!. A burr grinder is the best for making coffee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Sure, I use my coffee grinders for spices all the time, so why not the other way around!? I have two, one for spices one for coffee!. They're cheap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
