Question: Are hot dog franks and bologna made of the same stuff!?
They taste about the same if eaten raw!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Slighty different compositions, but, yes for the most part!. Not only that, but they're made using similar processes and techniques!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As a former chef, both are considered an emulsified meat were the meat and other ingredients are pureed and then place in a casing and smoked/cooked, bologna is a purer meat product, not as much filler!.

And bologna is smoked to cooked were frankfurter/hot dogs may have a light smoking but are steamed to cook them, I have toured 2 meat packing plants here in Canada and saw there production, and contrary to other saying the meat is not scraps, they may not use the choicest cuts but there are no internal organs or by products, they would not cook soft and the product would have hard chunks inside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eaten raw!? you never eat either one raw!.
You can eat them warmed or cold!.
Hot dogs and bologna are both cured meats!.
Some are made of just beef, some are beef and pork,
some are chicken, some are turkey and some are made
of soy but all have salt/spices that are similar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, they both are garbage left over from animals!. Taste would be close to the same unless one was garlic and the other not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
