Answers:
Soak your seeds, in the shell in a salt water bath for about 15 minutes!. Drain the seeds, but do not rinse them!. Then roast them at 300 degrees (start with a cold oven), in a shallow ungreased pan (you may want to line the pan with foil) tossing them every 4 minutes until they are dry and you can just begin to smell them!. Then let them cool completely and store them in an air tight container!. Watch the time!.!.!. It will only take about 12-16 minutes for the seeds to roast!.
For the salt water, use 1 tablespoon of salt per 16 fluid ounces of water!. It sounds like a lot of salt but most of it is still in the water, that you drain off!. also, if you want them saltier, you can adjust the salt level!.
If you want to create a barbeque sunflower seed similar to the ones sold in stores!. Grease your pan lightly with oil before adding the seeds!. Then during the last 2-3 mins of baking, shake on some McCormick Grill Mates Barbecue seasoning!. The oil residue on the seeds will help the seasoning to adhere!.
You can also roast pumpkin seeds in the same way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you would have to find a salt/ flavoring that you can blend in like a coffee grinder over and over until it becomes more of a powder!. then if i were you i would put a few drops of olive oil in a zip lock bag!. add the sunflower seeds!. shake them around until they have a light coating, and then add my salt!. and re shake!. you could do a ranch one too!. just instead of salt use like a dip flavoring packet like hidden valley or something and add that!. im not 100% positive!. but hey its worth a shot!. i almost wanna try doing it my self!. and if you don't have a coffee grinder you should use one of those stone mallets!. it would just be alot of work!.
good luck!.
