What can I use in place of fig newtons? Please read question before answering.?!
I work for a Wilderness based school, where the kids spend a lot of time camping!. I'm trying to find a less expensive alternative for fig newtons - something non-perishable!. I was considering just a cracker or cookie (like nilla wafers or wheat thins), but I would really like something with at least a little fiber in it!. Any suggestions!? Thanks in advance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I believe that Quaker makes snack bars with a little added fiber!.
I would go down either the snack or breakfast aisle at the grocery store to see what they offer!.

What about just a generic brand of fig newtons!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
There are a lot of fiber bars, fruit bars, etc!. on the market, but all of them are far more costly than fig newtons!. Fig newtons are you best bargain if you are trying to get a little fiber for a little money, unless you just give them a fiber rich tasty cereal in sandwich baggies to nibble on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
