Which red wine should i buy?!

Question: Which red wine should i buy!?
I'm doing a meal for special occasion and don't normally drink red wine!.I don't want an expensive one just something nice,I've no idea at all about different kinds of wine!.I don't like the vinegary taste of some reds,it's to go with main course,(beef wellington)!. Is it better to have say a south african wine than an australian or a shiraz rather than Burgundy!? I'd appreciate any help you can give me!. thank you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Go with a full-bodied Cabernet due to the "weightyness" of the main course!. Many red wines from Chile are nice and a great value even in the $8 to $12 range!. If you go with a cab from California, expect to pay at least $!5 to $25 for a nice quaity wine!. Keep in mind that as a general rule, as the price goes up, so does the quality and taste value!. But that is just a guideline, and not to disparage any lesser expensive ones such as the offerings from Chile I mentioned!.

One of my favorite reds is a Chianti, an Italian red!. Go for a bottle of Chianti Classico Ducale Gold Reserva!. It is a little bit pricey!.!.!.$35-ish!.!.!.maybe $40!.!.!.but with a taste that just may hook you on reds!

Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

buy a nice bottle of jacobs creek/australia!. then there is wolf blass/australia, or best of all ,a nice bottle of new zealand wine!. they range from £6!.00 to £9!.00!. make sure it is single grape and not those horrible blends that have been thrown on the market!. now shiraz is a light wine and i believe it is what a burgundy is!. cabernet is a bit heavier which is very nice in front of a fire afterwards!. south african wines have tendency to give you a headache and are often slightly sour !. enjoy your special mealWww@FoodAQ@Com

Beef Wellington would go nice with a cabernet!.
Go with something good but not expensive!.
Kendall-Jackson is nice for the money!.
But of course there's many good inexpensive ones out there!.
I just mentioned that because that the one that's sells best( in our store)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would go for a Cabernet Merlot!. There are many excellent Australian wines in the $15 to $25 range!. Go to a bottle shop and ask the attendant to recommend a few!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might try Fetzer Barrel Select Merlot!. It's a California wine in the $15 range!.

[edit]Here's another one you might like: Black Swan Vineyards Shiraz-Merlot from Australia!. It is smooth, fruity and doesn't bite!. I don't usually care for red wine, either, but this one is very drinkable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A Tempranillo from La Rioja in Spain should be ideal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

t!.j!. swane!. i think that's how you spell it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A nice shiraz or a nice cab sav and you cant to wrongWww@FoodAQ@Com

My fiancée and I like a rosé wine called White Merlot!. It's a hybrid wine, of sorts, that's a combination of White Zinfandel and Merlot!. A great choice for people who want a red wine served with a meal consisting of red meats, but also for people who like the flavor of white wines!. White Merlot costs around $6-$8 for a domestic (produced in California) bottle and can be found at your local grocer!.
