he most common foods for a food drive that are not perishable are as follows

koolaid packets, mac n cheese, powdered milk, oatmeal, instant cereals, dry packaged soup mixes" lipton chicken noodle", Some canned goods are accepted just depends on how long they will sit before getting distributed, Lipton pasta or rice sides, rice a roni sides, make your own pizza kits" where you make the dough from a mix", dry pastas, rice, beans, Masa for toritllas, powdered juice mixes!.

For canned goods they need to have a shelf life of 2-4 yrs from the date on the can, no dents that might have broken a seal or they wont be accepted!.

For non food related items that are accepted, diapers, wipes in sealed package, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby powder, baby oil, washcloths ect!.!.!.!.

try this, look thru the bin, i mean really look, see whats there and think of what you would like to eat, also find items that can be combined and cooked with, my company does an ongoing food drive and i think a lot about what i could make with just the stuff in the bin, i've got a wall full of letters from people that we've helped, give as much as you canWww@FoodAQ@Com

Any non-perishable food!. It does not have to be just canned goods!. As long as it doesn't need to be refrigerated, it is fine!.

You can even bring stuff like cake mixes and frosting!. I read that is a good thing to bring!. Although it is not a "staple" sometimes a family might be having a birthday and really appreciate that they can get that and celebrate it!.

Food drive organizers normally want non-perishables - the kind of items that don't require refrigeration!. Around here, they say the most welcome donations include:
canned tuna
soup
peanut butter
jam
cereal
crackers
canned meats
pasta
canned tomato products
canned vegetables

They also prefer that the items not be in glass jars since they could break in handling!. So mostly canned and boxed items!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lots and lots of a canned food!. Anything you might think would help!. Mac and cheese also!. Food drives are really generous and its nice that your contributing!. One thing food shelters are always lacking, but in need of, is baby formula!. I found this out during a department food drive recently - it's not something you'd normally think of, but imagine how much you can help a hungry baby!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

While it is a food drive, they won't be unhappy if you bring plastic utensils, paper plates, paper towels, toothpaste, deodorant, new toothbrushes, zip lock bags, plastic wrap, foil, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
