Answers:
It's been mentioned already, but there's no definitive length of time for raw onions to last!.

Your onion has obviously had a chance to dry, and you've stored it in an ideal fashion: in a cool (but not cold), dark place!. Fresh-from-the-soil onions can be made to last a long time---like, several months---by allowing them to air dry on top of a screen or fabric sheet, so the air can get to the onion from all sides!. Once the outer skin dries, it acts as an insulator and keeps the onion's internal moisture trapped!.

As long as your onion hasn't lost a significant amount of weight (in other words, dried out), and it hasn't begun to sprout, it might keep for another two or three months!. Just have a peek at it once a week or so, and if it begins to show signs of age, go ahead and use it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm the biggest onion eater in the entire world and I eat onion just about every day with something!. I have kept them on my counter uncut for 3-3!.5 weeks!. I would say if you cut into it and it's soft be careful!. If it's still hard enough to cut through, you should be good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is no hard and fast rule!. It all depends on how they were stored, what kind of onion it is (vidalia's only last a week or two), and how fresh they were when you bought them!. As long as it's not sprouting (in which case it should be used IMMEDIATELY) it's fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don′t eat onions because I have to kiss to my boyfriend!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
