Answers:
I think it depends on 1)how ripe your food is when you purchase it & bring it home!. You can buy ripe food for same day consumption or nearly ripe to use for later!.
In my experience, strawberries can have developing mold within a day or 2 and get mushy spots in 3days!. also, depending on how you store your leafy vegetables, they can dry out and wilt then in days start to get mushy parts!.
And 2) how you store it!. If left without any kind of storage containment, leafy vegetables can dry out and wilt and maybe in days start to get mushy parts!.
It's true that if you keep the produce in those thin plastic bags from the store, the produce will not keep very long!.
Use damp paper towels to wrap around lettuce, leafy greens etc and then stick all of that inside a ziplock bag in the refrigerator!.

You know i am bad i leave mayo and ketchup and mustard and wostershire sauce and a1 in there forever!.
i would think yogurts/milk/cottage cheese and fruits go bad fast lunch meat never lasts long!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

fruit & veggies kept in bags!. they should be taken out immediatly & put in the drawers without the bags!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
