THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "NEGATIVE CALORIE" FOOD!
The idea that celery burns more calories in the process of eating it is a MYTH!.
There is no such thing as a food that COST MORE CALORIES to eat and digest then is contained in the food!.
That is misinformation that was proven to be bullshit LONG LONG AGO!.!.!. I have NO IDEA where people keep getting this nonsense!
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Negative_ca!.!.!.
The phrase negative calorie food is a term used by people who believe that there are certain foods which require more energy to digest than they provide nutritionally!. Low nutrient, high cellulose foods such as celery are often claimed to require very slightly more energy to digest than they provide nutritionally!.[1] This is a myth, or any possible effect is miniscule!.[2] However, these foods are often low in calories and can be consumed within a weight-loss diet to potentially relieve the feeling of hunger without adding greatly to total caloric intake!.
Some foods considered to be 'negative calorie' foods are listed below: (Go to link to read the list)
</edit>
STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOODS!.
Don't let the terms "Lite" or "Fat Free" or names like "Healthy Choice" or even "Organic" or "Vegetarian" fool you!.
It doesn't matter what the "Shiny Factor" of the box is!.!.!. ALL that matters is what is on the "Nutritional Information" on the BACK of the pretty box!.
"Vegetarian" and "Organic" frozen foods tend to contain MASSIVE amounts of Sodium!.!.!.
One "Vegetarian" Hot Dog has like a whole day's worth of sodium!.
"Fat Free" foods have just as much sugar as their "Unhealthy" versions and most of the time the difference is in PORTION SIZE and not in actual ingredient changes!.
The key is PORTIONS!.
Control portions and you can still have some chips or a few cookies!.!.!.
Go in to your kitchen right now and pull out every box and can you can find and READ THE LABELS!.
A can of soup may have 2+ Portions in it!.!.!. So when it says "Only 100 Calories!*" the * means (Per Portion) but that is in small print on the back of the can!.
Take a bowel and put the average amount of cereal in it!.!.!. Then take a measuring cup and pour out what is the portion size indicated on the box!.
Are you like most people!? Eating 2+ 'servings' of it each morning!?
Even if it is Special K!.!.!. 2+ servings of special k still equals double what you THOUGHT you were eating!.
There is no such thing as a "Bad" or "Evil" food!. It ALL boils down to portion size!.!.!.
Remember!.!.!. You can eat MUCH MUCH more fruits and veggies then you can of packaged foods!.!.!.
A handful of chips = a pound of fresh veg!.
Just think in terms of what is more SATISFYING!? A small handful of chips or a HUGE bowl of carrot sticks!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
