Not really!. It depends on the store's policy!. Some stores just won't count out large amounts of change!.
I work part time in a small town convenience store!. We usually accept small change, but the customer is expected to stand at the counter while while the cashier counts it!. We won't accept piles of change during the morning and lunch rush hours!. Our regulars know that and appreciate not having to wait while clerks count out 13!.00 in pennies and nickels!.
In our store though we accept change, we measure and open all rolled coins now!. Why!? Because we had a guy try to pass us coin rolls that have much less money than they are supposed to!. I personally opened 5 quarter rolls a few weeks ago that were short by a total of $6--deliberately--there were several washers in each roll!.
We had the jerk on camera!. So, he paid up rather than have us call the cops!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know in Canada you can't pay for any item over 50 or 100 cents (can't remember which) in only pennies, so you wouldn't be able to get away with it!. However, drop another size coin in with them (like a nickle) and you should be able to force them to accept it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
just have them all grouped together and counted, pennies with pennies, etc!. be sure to say sorry and that should be good!. if they don't that means that they are douche bags!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
