Do I have to refrigerate peanut butter?!

Question: Do I have to refrigerate peanut butter!?
I've never refrigerated peanut butter!. I live in an extremely dry Nevada climate and don't worry about mold!.

However, I've switched to a natural style peanut butter and now I am concerned because it doesn't have the preservatives in it like before!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, it may seperate, but that is easily reversed by a handy dandy spoon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you have to store natural peanut butter in the refrigerator!. It says so on the jar!. Make sure you stir it real well before you do, it will also keep it from separating againWww@FoodAQ@Com

The shelf life is 6 months after opening, if stored in a cool, dry place!. No need to refrigerate, but it will help keep the oil from separating!.
