Yes this method of cooling off food is safe!. Temperature danger zone is 135-40 Fahrenheit for 4 hours for bacterial growth!. I use empty jars to store rice, beans, sugar, flour, and other items that bug could infest!. You could all so recycle glass, and tin!. Check you local phone book to find out where to deposit recyclables!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

an ice cube in the tea will cool it down a lot quicker

i've never tried putting anything really hot in the fridge to cool it down!.
i would be afraid of breaking the dish

jars, cans, containers--empty!?!?
if yes, recycle themWww@FoodAQ@Com

It is safe to cool your food in the fridge but remember you will be adding heat to your fridge which will affect the temperature, therefore making your fridge work harder & use more electric

Jars cans etc can be recycledWww@FoodAQ@Com
