Leaving mayonnaise out overnight? I forgot to put it back in the fridge.?!
Should I just throw it away or is it ok to leave it out at room temperature!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Homemade mayo should probably be discarded unless your house is below 45 at night!. Commercial mayo has preservatives, though, and it should be OK, as long as you don't do it over and over!. (I've done the same thing before and never gotten sick!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Don't throw it out, it doesn't even need to be kept in the fridge!.
They are so full of preservatives the will last for months, if not longer in your pantry!.
I often wonder why we are told to refrigerate things after opening, when there is no obvious need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
