When uve opened some meat like chicken or steak?!
and theres some left uncooked, wats the best method to store the rest back in fridge!? take it out the packaging and put it in a small plate and wrap the meat with something or just leave it with nothing on top!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Remove from original packaging;
Best choice is to store in an individual storage baggie which seals (zipper-type bag best) or place on a clean plate and cover with clingfilm!.
I know what you mean about trying to keep portions!. Before I married my husband I was in the same boat!. Even now, because the multi-portion packs are less expensive than smaller packs we have to store the extras!. It isn't a bad idea to freeze them (double bagged in zipper bags), even if it is only a few days!.
Sometimes I simply cook the extra portions the same as I'm cooking the main meal that evening, store the cooked portion in a rubber-sealed food container and enjoy in a couple days or freeze for an instant dinner the following week - I remove it from the freezer in the am when I leave for work and come home to something already cooked, that just needs re-heating :o)

You have to cover or seal it in some way or the meat will dry out!. If you have a freezer, cover and freeze the leftover meat!. Raw meat will only last a couple of days in the refrigerator, and should be cooked within a day or two from purchase!.
If you don't have a freezer available, cook the extra meat an then seal it and store it in the fridge!. It should keep for a week or longer after it's cooked, if you store it correctly!.
Some ideas for covering and sealing food:
Foil (Reynolds brand has a recycled foil available now)
Plastic bags, like Ziploc!.
Plastic wrap (like Saran)
Storage containers with lidsWww@FoodAQ@Com

If it's not previously frozen, you can wrap it in saran wrap and freeze it!. If it has been frozen, wrap it in saran and refrigerate it for only a couple of days!. If you are not going to use it within a couple of days, cook it first then freeze it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If it has been frozen, store in an airtight container!. On a plate covered in plastic and use within 2-3 days!.
If it is fresh the same applies except it can be frozen!.
Consider cooking the lot and freezing the leftovers!. (my preferred option!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually use zip top freezer bags or reusable plastic containers to store any uncooked meat!. You really don't want the meat juices to get all over your refrigerator and you don't want anything to contaminate the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
usually my mom, puts left over meat that is uncooked in the freezer!. She wraps it and puts it in the freezer!. Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just wrap it in tin foil then place it in the freezer but before you cook it let it thaw out for awhile then cook it however!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Freeze it but put it in a ziplock freeze bag!. Prevents freezerburn which leaves an awful taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
lick the raw chicken to get the impurities off, then stuff it in your cabinetWww@FoodAQ@Com
wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
