Kiwi fruit "skin" is high in phenolic compounds, such as flavanoids, which have antioxidant properties. Flavanoids, as in kiwi "skin", have potential anticancer, anti-inflammatory and anti allergenic properties.

BTW - The kiwi is also called "actinidia deliciosa" or "Chinese gooseberry". It?s originally from China, but is also widely cultivated in New Zealand. In fact, it?s New Zealanders who named the fruit "kiwi" after the national emblem of the country, a tail-less bird with a long beak.

Edit - Yes, the skin of kiwi fruit is edible.

Yes kiwi skin can be eaten. Most people do not like the texture of it though and many find it wierd when people do but it can be done

yes it can be, and i've done but before, but really i wouldn't try it again, feels like swallowing a hairball...

It can be eaten, but I don't like the furry texture or the taste.
