How often do you wash your brita water filter?!

Question: How often do you wash your brita water filter?

How often do you wash it? I mean the kind where you put water in the top and it filters the water to the bottom..the pitcher kind. I wash mine every few months (or whenever it looks gross), but I was just wandering how often it should be done.

i wash mine about every 2 weeks.
