Bread with olive oil is very tasty. Olive oil is really healthy, as our friends already informed you.
It is high in monounsaturated fats, resulting in low LDL (bad) cholesterol and high HDL (good) cholesterol levels. It contains vitamins, especially vitamin E, and antioxidants. Of course, you are not supposed to cook it for a very long time or in very high temperature, because its beneficial effects will disappear - in fact, it will become quite harmful, but that is the case with all oils. On the other hand, olive oil starts to smoke at a higher temperature than seed oils (e.g. sunflower oil, cornoil, etc)
I come from a mediterranean country (Greece), and olive oil is a must in the kitchen.
We do this a lot:
Cut bread in slices, shed some olive oil on top (about 1/2 teaspoon), sprinkle with oregano. Then grill it for a couple of minutes, just to let it warm and take on a little colour.
When we go to a taverna, we are very often served bread this way.
Lots of salt are not very good for health, although a little every once in a while won't hurt.
Another recipe for bread: olive oil & crushed garlic. Make a thick paste and spread a little on your slices. Grill for 3-4 minutes. If you're not a vampire, it's divine - plus, both olive oil and garlic will offer you super health.
Buy thick slices of bread those with flax seed and sesame at the top layer and they taste like baguettes.
Toast, and ad a dash of olive oil - the entire thing taste creamy and buttery - It is healthy good fat - olive oil is the safest oil
The beneficial health effects of olive oil are due to both its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its high content of antioxidative substances. Studies have shown that olive oil offers protection against heart disease by controlling LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels while raising HDL (the "good" cholesterol) levels. (1-3) No other naturally produced oil has as large an amount of monounsaturated as olive oil -mainly oleic acid.
Olive oil is very well tolerated by the stomach. In fact, olive oil's protective function has a beneficial effect on ulcers and gastritis. Olive oil activates the secretion of bile and pancreatic hormones much more naturally than prescribed drugs. Consequently, it lowers the incidence of gallstone formation.

Although olive oil is a great oil for a number of reasons, dipping bread isn't such a healthy choice and adding salt oil increases your sodium intake which is unhealthy as well. If you must I'd say skip the salt and find a whole grain loaf of bread to dip into your olive oil and limit it to one slice.
instead of salt use balsamic vinegar with your olive oil. It is DELICIOUS!
No I am not kidding either Italians have been doing it for centuries. You can also add a bit of parmesan cheese rosemary, thyme, and basil in the mix as well. (very small amounts on the spices)
olive oil is free from chloestrol, better not to use with salt.eat bread with margerine less oily and tasty.
