No it's not bad, it's the air escaping.

it's not that unusual. Green tea produces bubbles sometimes, depending on the water and cup. If you pour into a foam cup it can fizz, also if the water is super hot.
Green tea is a nice thing and cheap stuff can be nasty. Ther'es nothing that wrong with bubbling teabags, the tea might not be nice, but that is because it's 99cent tea.

Tea doesn't go bad. The tea has lots of oxygen within the bag and when pushed into hot water the oxygen slowly escapes causing small air bubbles rise to the surface. You have nothing to worry about!

I'm a barista.

Yup, tea shouldn't fizz.
If in doubt, throw out - that's what I live by.

I cut my tea bags open with scissors and take the tea out.

I never heard if any tea fizzes. Don't drink it, it's got to be bad.
