Why is the Fritos/Cheeto company reducing amount in bags?!

Question: Why is the Fritos/Cheeto company reducing amount in bags?
This is really pissing me off, as it not only offends me as a consumer but an environmentalist as well. By making their bags smaller and putting less into their bags, they're effectively slapping their customers, as well as the environment right in the f'in face. They're not the only ones guilty of this, for instance, the SoBe (South Beach) company stopped producing with glass bottles. Now you may say this ones for the better, but on top of this consumer bch slap, they're also reducing the amount of good drinks there are. I remember when nearly all SoBe products were good, now I'm lucky if i can find one Pink Strawberry at the supermarket.

Now im sure, more than a couple of your responses will be "Stop buying their product, blah blah blah" But isn't it about time these damn companies (who are, for the record, seeing unprecedented profits) nut up to their responsibility, and stop cheating their customers? I feel really put out by the situation, and i suggest you people open your eyes too cause im talkin about a cheeto revolution

To cut back on cost. FYI, EVERY.SINGLE.COMPANY is doing this.

Remember when a can of coffee used to be a pound? now it's 10 1/2 oz
The reason is that they'd rather decrease the amt of product you get and leave the price alone, than to raise the price.
It's happening EVERYWHERE
a half gallon of ice cream is now only 1.5 quarts
A can of tuna is only 5 oz
It's everywhere and it sucks - make sure you look at the unit price, not the package price and this will at least, make you a more informed consumer.

It's just the same as putting up their prices. Which would you rather have: pay more, or pay the same for less? Prices always go up, hardly anything comes down. Buy shares in the food companies, share in the profit!

Most food manufacturer's are reducing their package sizes, mainly due to the lousy economy

greed

I totally agree with you!!!

TOO much packaging for TOO little product is why I try to buy bulk. It's frustrating!!!!

A cheeto revolution would be great...

That's starting to become the norm with all manufacturers of food. Give you less and charge you more.

to make michelle happy..

and can we add yogurt to the list? those tubs are ridiculously small!! and i have stopped buying any of their products...
