The price is set by the troupe. I paid $4 a box this year

The price is not set by the troops. The price is set by the councils. If a troop is upping the price, they need to be reported ASAP. The price range is from $3.25-$4.25 in the US I believe. Our council and the neighboring ones charge $3.50. One neighboring council just recently increased their from $3.25 to $3.50. It got rather confusing as on occasion those of us near the line were accused up price gouging by those living in the other council. The same council use to start selling 2 weeks before ours did, so that also led to confusion since a troop can be banned from selling cookies if they start before the official start date for their council. My husband's work actually sits about 1/4 mile from the council line. We are one of the few families that live within this council, so my daughter used to have a very hard time getting customers at my husband's work. By the time she was selling them, everyone had purchased theirs, and were able to purchase them for $0.25 less.
