is eating organic foods healthier for you?!

Question: Is eating organic foods healthier for you?
I have start back on diet after gaining almost all of my weight. I weigh about 251 and I a huge wake up call. I saw this youtube video of this women Donna Simpson who wants to weigh about 1,000 pounds and I when I saw that video immediately thought that could be me if I don't stop eating so much. So this week I have started back the weight watchers at my house and I lost a few pounds. I play on the wii because that can make you move a lot. I do about 3/4 songs on the MJ game and 3/4 on the just dance 2 game. They say that nintendo wii is good for you because it keeps you moving. I want to change my eating habits to organic foods. There is a better health store nearby city. Is eating organic food good for if you want to lose weight? I want to get to my dream goal of 115 lbs.

Truth of the matter is, there is no scientific evidence to support any claims of organic foods being in any way healthier for you. In blind tests, nobody could even tell the difference.

I'd also worry about the pesticides and fertilizers used in organic farming, as they can be quite dangerous. (Yes, organic farmers use pesticides, they just have to use "organic" mixes, which are far nastier than their non-organic relatives.) Not to mention, a large portion of our organic food supply comes from China, and we all know their health and safety history.

No. They can still be high in calories, sugar and fat!

Go fruits and veggie and whole grain bread. Take out anything processed (even organic food). Then it won't be so tempting.

After a couple of weeks you will be craving fruits and veggies instead of junk!

Good Luck!

Organic foods are merely more expensive!! They will cost you 3 to 4 times the amount of regular fruits and veggies and meats on the market shelves. It is the paperwork that makes them cost so much. They are NOT healthier, merely more expensive. They have the same nutrients and calories as regular fresh or canned or frozen foods.

I highly recommend the South Beach Living phase 2 food plan for the rest of your life. It must be a lifestyle change. These books are readily available at your local library. They have fantastic menus and recipes in them. I have been on this plan for the past 15 years. As a diabetic, this works great for me, but with insulin I don't gain any weight either on this plan. Insulin causes weight gain!!

Good going on the WII thing. It is excellent exercise.

Just aim at about 2 to 5 pounds per every 2 weeks and you will be fine. NO! organic is not a weight loss notation on foods. It doesn't help anything except your pocket book lose any weight.

Just eat small portions of all foods and exercise a lot. You will lose weight unless you have a thyroid problem.

Organic foods won't help you lose weight. The reason they are organic is because they were grown without using pesticides and chemicals. A carrot is a carrot. A potato is a potato, no matter if they are called organic or not. The only organic foods you should eat are fruits and veggies where you eat the flesh, like a strawberry, or lettuce... but bananas, you take off the outer part and eat the fruit inside. But as far as weight lose, organic or not, they will still have the same amount of calories in them, and that's what you need to pay attention too... how many calories you're eating, and how many you should be eating.
