It depends on the meat type.
Minced - 3 months
Steaks - 6 months
Roasts - 12 months

All need to be properly packed and looked after.

check with your state's game and fish department. some states will fine you if you have it more than 6 months.

but for general purposes as long as it is properly wrapped it wll keep very well for about a year or more.

Depends on how it's stored. Vacuum sealed and frozen in 6 mil plastic keeps much longer than just wrapped in butcher paper and frozen. Need more info.

As long as it's air tight, it should stay good for a VERY long time - if you notice freezer burn or discoloration, then it's time to throw it out.

I try never to keep any protein, no matter how well sealed, for more than 3 months.

If properly wrapped, up to a year.
