Found small white hard things in salmon patty?!

Question: Found small white hard things in salmon patty?
Alright so i'm at my grandmas house and she made some salmon patties with ground salmon and i thought it tasted really good. then i found like 2-3 small hard circles that i think were barnacles or something. They were nasty so i didnt want to eat anymore. Does anyone know what these could be?

they are the bones from the salmons spine so to say....if it looked like small form of a disc like yours do in your spine that is what they where...when they process the salmon they leave the bones in because it is cooked and the bones become softer than normal.....most people remove that part before making it into salmon patties...maybe your gramma just forgot to do that...it will not harm you in anyway....if you come across it again just remove it from your mouth and eat the rest of the patty....they wasnt barnacles...they dont dont attach to salmons

Salmon is pressure-cooked whole for canned salmon. They were the vertebrae. They were white, and crunchy but not hard, right? That's what the cooking does to the bones.

They were bones. Almost always found in canned salmon. No big deal. Won't hurt you.

Small soft salmon bones are very good for you. High in protein.
