It happens to me as well, ESPECIALLY in the week before my period! I believe sometimes our senses are heightened for whatever reason - like I have trouble hearing but my sense of smell is very acute. So acute that I become nauseated when I smell chili cooking or when my husband or daughter eats salsa, and I have nightmares if I watch scary movies, but I can watch serial killer shows and cop shows all day and all night, no problem! Just give yourself a break, and realize that smelling food that isn't there is part of your "disordered eating". You may, in fact, be HUNGRY! I hope you seek help for your problem, and I wish you luck!
two years ago i remember coming home and smelling the scent of cookies or a cake as if it were baking or just came out of the oven, yet i couldn't find it. then one day i found out what it was, it was my scented plug-in air freshener. it was the french vanilla scent i had been smelling the entire time. that thing sure played a cruel joke on me.
It's the CIA. It happens to everyone. They send out brain waves that tell your brain subliminal messages so you go and purchase things you don't necessarily need to boost the economy.
It's no secret.
If you are starving you might hallucinate. It is also possible that the smell of food from a near by fast food place is drifting through your window.
YES. Thank goodness, I thought I was insane.
Yes, this happens to me to, and I think it's for the same reason. :)
wishful thinking
I once had a dream I was eating ho ho's and when I got up my cat's litter box was clean. How weird was that?
