Unless its not the season for grapes or the country you are in do not produce grapes, otherwise grapes can be cheap too.
Organic raisins are not that cheap either so depending on that you are getting and from where.
Perhaps raisins are cheaper because there's don't need perfect grapes to make it, so the 2nd best are the one used to make raisins after taking away the good quality grapes.

Because a lot of people don't buy raisins any more. They are mostly spread with some kind of wax or different vegetable cheap oils to preserve them, and which is not good for our health.
Try to wash them, and you see the oil surfacing the water. It's not healthy.

For the same reason, that bad food, or expiring food goes on SALE! expensive foods are always better for you, IE. healthy foods etc.

Cheers!

because grapes have to be fresh, therefore their shlef life is very short.
Raisins can last two years on the shelf.
Grapes have to be handled carefully, and have to be sold quickly.

My opinion: Grapes taste good. Raisins taste like crap.

BUT, really - it's probably because grapes are in more demand than raisins.

wine comes from grapes!?!

.

they are fresh so need refrigeration and cannot be kept for long.

Because grapes are YUMMY and raisins are ****?
