Why after I use Zicam even hours later drinks and foods taste bad?!

I recently felt a cold coming on so i decided to take a rapid melt. An hour goes by after it has fully dissolved and I go buy a redbull. I open it. Take the first sip. And it LITERALLY tastes like Sewer water. I force it down. ( I usually love the taste of redbull.) I go fishing after about 4 hours of fishing I start on my way back home. I get mcdonalds double cheese burger and a small fry and small coke. I cannot taste the food at all and the coke same result sewer water. Now aproximatly 10 hours later open an arizona green tea. Take one sip. and again. Sewer water.. I would like to know if there have been any reported side effects such as this and is this permanent?
