How do you eat lobsters or crabs in a restaurant without making a mess?!

Question: How do you eat lobsters or crabs in a restaurant without making a mess?
I've only ever had them at home and when I do, they take much longer to finish than regular meals and they squirt over your shirt too sometimes. I don't look very elegant afterwards.. lol. So is there actually a quick non-messy way?

>Ha ha ha ha! That is the fun of it, making the sloppy mess! That is what makes eating crab and lobster so distinctive and enjoyable. Nothing like a pile of crabs you have to wade through...one leg at a time. The only problem is the melted butter getting cold and the meal getting cold, that is what I don't like about it. But as long as lobsters and crabs have shells, there isn't any way around the mess unless you wanna pay someone $20 an hour to shell and shuck them for you.

Well, you should be more careful and eat slowly...The firs answer is also very right.

Have someone else open them and get the crab/lobster meat out of them for you.

The trick is to kill em first.

who cares ? eat the way you want :)
