There is no Recommended Daily Allowance for junk food so there is no parameter for serving sizes.
But that might change in order to help curb obesity in the United States. The ultimate "allowance" (though not recommended "daily allowance") would be based on the recommended daily allowance of calories per person, but ultimately all of your fat and calories should come from whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins.
Read the carton for how many servings it says it has. Divide the total ounces of the carton by the number of servings. That number will be your portion size, probably 4 ounces, which = 1/2 cup.
If you have an ice cream scoop with the squeeze handle to release the ice cream after scooping, it will probably be that size. Fill-don't over fill, and you have your portion. Otherwise, scoop ice cream into a 1/2 cup measuring cup (again, don't over fill).
Hope that helps
