Question: I found a glass bottle with the anchor hocking glass company symbol on it and it had 1875 on it.?

I have researched the anchor hocking company and it wasn't even created until the 20th century. COuld someone give me more info as to why it would have 1875 on the bottom.

It's the dimensions of the glass, 1875 inches... Look it up on eBay...

My guess would be that some other business in 1875 used as their emblem.
Look to see it there is an information printed in glass on the bottom or sides.
It is a real puzzle for you.

You may get some ID help at a antiques shop.

anchor hocking bought camden glass making comp...that company was established in 1875 .....that could be the reason for the date....the bottle was probably patented by camdon glass so anchor hocking had rights to it after purchaseing the company hope this helps
