I, myself look 4 tupperware bowls with lids at yard & garage sales, because they last 4 ever. Great to store left-overs in & re-heat in microwave.
you can get decent quality plastic storage solutions at any Walmart, Target, Shopko and store and its called Rubber maid.
They last just as long as any other plastic stuff and are waaaaaay cheaper.
The last Tupperware party I went to was about 6 years ago and the chick was also selling some "special" cleaner to remove stains from Tupperware.
A gallon of bleach does the same thing and was also waaaaay cheaper.
If you have your heart set on Tupperwar, take the catalog with you shopping and see how much comparable storage containers compare to Tupperware.
At the last Tupperware party I went to I bought a cupcake carrier, and it's just the right size for taking cookies/cupcakes to get-togethers. It's rectangle-shaped, with rounded edges, and not huge like the ones I see at Walmart. I love the hinged lid. I have used it a LOT and it's just as good as new. Before you spend a fortune, look around at Target/Walmart, etc and compare prices for the basics. They have comparable stuff. Try to order unique things you can't find anywhere else. Have fun at your party!
Tupperware are expensive, the only thing I bought the last time was canisters for my flour and sugar etc..and they were over 50 bucks for them..no more of that!! I been buying Rubbermaid's at Target or Walmart they are just as good and cheaper too..=)
Wow, Tupperware is still out? I haven't heard of a Tupperware party for years. Great quality stuff no doubt. I have some old tupperware products from 15 years ago and still in tip top shape! My favorite is their measuring cups/baking stuff and the pasta strainer, and some of their higher quality bowls are really nice. I used to have the spice organizer but it was a waste of money. I would get a cake tote and pie tote if they still have those. Also you should buy their plastic cups which last you a lifetime. Get some nice mixing bowls and also storage containers. I don't know what they have out now, but I imagine it's more streamlined then it was back when I grew up with the primary color little cups and square plates. hee hee hee =) Have fun!
