Is it ok to eat just frozen microwavable meals from Trader Joes?!

Question: Is it ok to eat just frozen microwavable meals from Trader Joes?
I'm a college student and I don't really have time to prepare food. Its just easiar to microwave. Is it ok to just eat like that, or is it unhealthy?

Answers:

Think about this:

1)Does it contain a good amount of fresh veggies?
2)the body only needs 500mg of sodium per day. The absolute max amount of sodium you should consume per day is 2300g. How much sodium does one frozen "meal" contain?
3)Does it contain harmful additives, such as: mono sodium glutamate, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, sodium nitrite, aspartame, etc. ??? Does it contain ingredients that you cannot pronounce the name of???
4)Does it contain any trans fat (which is from hydrogenated oil)
5)Does it contain whole grain bread, pasta, or rice? or is it "white" bread, pasta, or rice?
6) Does it contain processed meat?
7) Is it contain plastic packaging

If you said this:
1)yes
2)400mg or less
3)no
4)no
5) whole grain bread, pasta, or rice
6)no
7)no, it contains only paper/cardboard packaging

,then go right ahead.

-Peanut butter sandwich (with all-natural peanut butter) preparation doesn't take much time. Add a bit of honey to make it taste better.
-Veggie sandwich preparation doesn't take much time. Add a little cheese if you don't like plain veggie sandwiches
-Cutting a one carrot, celery rib, a few cucumber slices, and a broccoli floret takes little time.
-Washing an apple takes less than 30 seconds
-Getting an orange from the fridge can take just a few seconds.
-Filling up a water bottle can just take a few seconds

I have been making homemade lunches for years

Not in the long term you should try to make a couple of meals a week, or perhaps at the weekends, and have enough leftovers for another meal or two.

They are usually well balanced meals, however a lot of sodium like the first answerer stated. Whole Foods has better choices that are quick. Try Amy's brand of frozen foods. Maybe Trader Joes has that brand.

yes,it is definitely okayy...i always get frozen foods from there and make it at home, Trader Joe's is considered an organic all natural Grocery store so dont worrie its all healthy. : )

Your best bet is to read the nutrition facts on the packaging for Sodium; total carbohydrates and Sugar content. There are many products some more healthy than others.

I think that most convenience foods are high in salt and all around aren't as healthy as fresh foods. Try adding a salad and some fresh fruit to your diet.

I don't see why not, I do it all the time..=)
