Can I put hot water in my thermos?!

Question: Can I put hot water in my thermos?
I bought a thermos by the brand Thermos?. It's made of stainless steel, but for some reason the fine print says not for use with hot substances. Weird, right? Do you think there is some sort of health threat if I use it for tea?

I think you should contact the maker. I bought a bath toy which said "Do not immerse in water" and when I contacted the maker they gave me some other toys instead. I think a thermos which cannot be used for hot substances is just as useless as a bath toy which can't go in water!

Never heard of a thermos designed to be not used for hot drinks. Don't think it will stay very hot, but I'd call the mfg's toll free # and find out why you can't use hot beverages. People use them for coffee, tea, etc., so it makes no sense to me.

I would check it out, in case it is for only cold things, but that is what they are designed for.
You should warm them before filling as boiling hot soup or water may crack the container.

That is weird, but it probably just won't stay hot all day. If that's what you want, check the label before you buy.

That's what Thermos's are designed for...... To keep liquids hot or cold.
I don't think there is any threat.
