What foods are safe to eat after you've thrown up?!

Question: What foods are safe to eat after you've thrown up?
Last night after dinner my stomach started hurting. It could be that I ate too much, or it could be a stomach bug (I heard there was one going around). For a few hours after I went to bed I was in a lot of pain. Then at about 2:00 AM I threw up. I drank vitamin water to get the taste out of my mouth, but I threw that up too.

When I woke up this morning I felt a lot better, but I took the day off from school just to be safe. (But it really sucks because its Valentine's Day.) Now I can drink water without a problem, but I haven't eaten anything yet. My mom left me a little cake and Twizzlers as a Valentine's Day present, but eating that probably wouldn't be a good idea right now.

What would be safe for me to eat? I feel a lot better but I just want to be safe. I don't want to throw up again :/ :/ :/

Answers:

Anything is "safe" but the best thing for an upset stomach is to follow the BRAT diet:

Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast

Or basically neutral and bland foods. Avoid anything that is greasy/fatty, spicy or to sugary. The mayo in the egg salad may be tot rich. I would go with a couple scrambled eggs, and toast.

Chicken noodle soup is goos or any brothy type soups.

Also stay hydrated. Water is best, but giniger al,and even 7-up or Sprite is good for an upset stomach.

My mom always made me just plain pasta whenever I had the stomach bug, but first I'd eat a few saltine crackers to see if I could keep that down. The saltine crackers are always the perfect thing when your sick! And gingerale!

Chicken noodle soup, apple sauce, and Plain toast are the three best things to start with.

I wouldn't press my luck with the egg salad sandwich if I were you.

Soups with a Clear Broth, and other clear liquids will do the trick.

banana, toast, soup

saltine crackers
