A large fruit that resembles a grapefruit?!

Question: A large fruit that resembles a grapefruit?
It's not exactly a grapefruit, it's like twice the size of a normal grapefruit and it's peel is yellow-ish (not green). It's not bitter like normal grapefruits.

I got it in an Asian supermarket and I know in Chinese (traditional) it's called 柚子 (as opposed to 葡萄柚, which is a normal grapefruit)

It's really good too!

Answers:

Hi Amanda, It is quite possibly a pomelo sometimes known as a Shadrock. Native to Malaysia and China. It can grow enormous to about a foot in size and weigh over 20 pounds. It is also grown in California and is also thought to be the ancestor of grapefruit. I hope this helps, all the best. Rab
