I ate swan to celebrate Charles wedding! It was a bird which had been culled which happens yearly
although I don't know where to buy them from! Unless you like poultry that tastes of fish dont bother!

A party to celebrate Charles wedding!

Not sure why anyone would want to eat swan, but it is illegal. And just think that one day all the swans that belong to the queen now will be his one day and I don't think it would therefore work in his honour.
Pike is fish, so a fishmongers would be a good place for this.
Haslet is a herbed pork meatloaf.
Try this site www.medieval-recipes.com maybe duck or goose
Hope this is of some help to you.

Swans are a protected species and it is illegal to kill them. Try goose instead which should be available from your supermarket or butcher. Goose needs to be pierced all over with a fork and cooked on a wire tray or it would be very greasy. Otherwise cook the goose as though it were a similarly sized turkey or capon, which are other alternatives if you prefer a leaner meat.

If you must have swan, Why not make some type swan shaped dessert ?
Try cutting out some wing shapes and "S" shapes in pastry.
Pile up some alcoholic flavoured Cream (whipped til thick)
then stick your wings on each side and add your "S" neck
serve with a coulis or chopped fresh fruit.
You could even sprinkle the swans back with silver balls
to add a little more festive spirit.
Better than fishy flavoured meat.

Made this myself

All mute swans in the UK belong to the Queen (an odd law yes, but it's true) and therefore obtaining swan meat or killing a swan without royal permission is illegal I'm afraid.

I am afraid eating swan is illegal.
