What part of the cow does a beef tenderloin come from?!

Question: What part of the cow does a beef tenderloin come from?
i been planning to make a beef tenderloin is it good. is it a tough meat or soft.
does it have alot of fat

Answers:

It is the most tender part of the cow. It is in the middle of the cow furthest away from any muscle. It is not fatty but should have some marbling. It has a skin over it called silverskin that should be removed if you buy it whole. Also if you buy a whole tenderloin, there will be some fat to trim as well

Very lean and very tender do not overcook it is considered the best piece of meat from the Steer not cow. A cow is a female mostly used for milk production and meat is not very good :) It comes from the underside of the steers ribs by the short and sirloin. I also believe the Steer is castrated.

this is a better explanation than I could give. Am I invited?
