What kind of baker do you want to be? Cupcake baking and cake decorating is huge right now thanks to shows on TLC and Food Network. But realistically, an average baker will have to work early/odd hours (Panera Bread and Atlanta Bread Company bakers work 11 pm- 6am) and the pay is a low hourly wage. Your best bet would be to own your own company, which is expensive and laborious to start. I realize this response seems on the negative side but I hope it helps answer your question!

pro; you love it, free bread, gets you busy, start your own bakery, always have cakes for friends etc.
cons; early mornings.

Huge con is the pay
