Creating your own cool treats at home can be a lot of fun, and also save money. Instead of hunting for your own favorite snow cone stand in your local area, try creating your favorite treat from home. Making snow cones from home requires hardly any ingredients and are very simple to make. The children could even help by scooping out their own ice or pushing the button on the blender while you stir up their favorite snow cone syrups. To create your own simple snow cones, only a few ingredients such as sugar, water, ice, and your favorite flavor of Kool-Aid is required.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
2 cups of sugar
3/4 cups of water
1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid flavor of your choice
Make the Shaved Ice
1
Pour about 1-2 cups of crushed ice into a blender. Add about 1 1/2 cups of water. Blend the ice together.
2
Blend the ice until it is completely crushed. Do not blend until it is liquid. The ice will somewhat look like shaved ice. Most of it will be smooth. If there is too much liquid, add more ice, and blend.
3
Scoop out some of the ice with an ice cream scooper or spoon into a small glass jar or bowl.
4
Add premade snowcone flavoring to the top or add your own snowcone flavoring. Serve chilled.
Recipe for Homemade Snowcone Syrup
1
Pour the sugar and the water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
2
Take the saucepan from the heat, and then stir in the Kool-Aid.
3
Let the sugar mixture cool. Place it in the refrigerator until it has become chilled. Pour your favorite flavors over the crushed ice for a yummy cold treat!
