Yep, it all comes out in the end.=0

Every once in a while, you stumble upon a gem, where the chefs and owners truly showcase their passion and share their favorite foods from their travels and experiences. Well, that such place is Picasso's, where not only can you get some of the best pizza I've ever had (I had about 7 slices by myself tonight, it was that good), but you can get some truly unique items found nowhere else in Jax, such as a Kentucky Hot Brown and St. Louis pizza.
Ironically, my sister just moved to St. Louis, and she assigned me the task to find some great places to eat up there. Little did I know I'd end up finding a place right here in Jax! My latest craving today was pizza, and pizza & I go way back, it's been a long, lusty love affair with pizza for me. I'm also on the hunt for the best pizza in Jax (still working on it), and so far, this place is my new favorite. Not having much time with a cranky, hungry toddler in tow, I ordered St. Louis pizza plain, described as a thin crust pizza, with a cheese based sauce laced with tomato sauce then topped with cheese (oh yeah, that got my attention). I also ordered NY style pizza (traditionally a thin crust as well) with my favorite combo of fresh spinach, mushrooms, and garlic, and who could resist the chocolate mousse cake calling my name in the window at the counter (although I wanted the St. Louis gooey buttery cake, but they were out tonight, go figure).
While waiting for our pizzas, my daughter and I ate half of the chocolate mousse cake and fully enjoyed its rich, chocolate flavor and light texture. I loved the ladyfingers as the crust also and watched the masterful chefs in action in their open kitchen. We watched one chef artfully cook salmon and add the chili/honey reduction glaze on it so tenderly; my mouth was actually watering.
After about 30 minutes, our pizza is ready, hot and fresh in the box, and oh, the powerful aroma of cheese and garlic! It made me so happy. We couldn't resist trying the St. Louis pizza (comes in small and medium only and cut into squares) in the car, so we chow on it on the way home. It's amazing, the cheese was so melty and pungent, crispy brown on the top and bottom and utterly delicious. At home, the kids tear into the rest of the pizza and 10 minutes later, there's no St. Louis pizza left. The NY pizza is just as good, thin crust, with the freshest ingredients I've ever had on pizza. The garlic was strong (the way I like it) and for once, the crust actually had flavor all on its own. The sum of all its parts was masterful; not sure any other pizza in Jax can compare.
A long time ago, I had their eggplant parmesan and vowed to return. And I did, and man, I will be back for sure. Did I mention they offer 70 plus toppings, ranging from traditional pepperoni to leek gratin, truffle oil, or Mayport shrimp? This is going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, I think.
