Why aren't my leeks sandy?!

Question: Why aren't my leeks sandy?
Where's all the dirt that is supposed to be in my leeks? They're pristine!

Answers:

Hi Tom,

Last week I went to our local "market street vendors" that comes 6 times a year.
I bought some organic vegetables from a vendor who had a sign that said he had the most healthiest fruits and vegetables. On top of the pristine leeks was a sign stating:"Greenhouse Grown."
The hydroponic greenhouse as he explained were grown to avoid many soil-borne diseases and pests, and are not treated with pesticides and harsh fertilizers. That's why your leeks aren't sandy!

Best2u,
:)

Maybe they're hydroponically grown.

I know, even potatoes nowadays are mud-less, unless you go to the grocers

Impossible!

somebody washed them
