Why does milk taste nasty by itself but...?!

Question: Why does milk taste nasty by itself but...?
...tastes so good when it's mixed with something else? Either in a smoothie or milkshake, or flavored milk, or if you drink it while eating something like chocolate?

When it's plain it has a sickening kind of aftertaste and it's just gross

Answers:

i only drink milk brands thats been filtered 3 times. this is much cleaner, lighter and creamier taste plus it lasts long in the fridge for a week compared to milk that hasnt been filtered.

Fair enough question. Have you seen the proliferation of 'Milk' types [and tastes] on display in a big Supermarket - mind boggling. I can only answer your question by asking what Milk are you talking about.

My bench mark for Milk? "straight from the cow" or as it comes out of the cream separator. A big mug of that 'Milk' on a real cold, mid-winters morning, (often with a spoon or two of Milo in it) really really hits the spot. Another big mug out of the Chiller Vat on a hot day does the trick just as well, (washed down of course with a cup of tea a little later).

The only thing makes that milk taste better, is hot porridge, brown sugar with real churned butter, yesterdays cream and the fresh milked Milk. Yum, if you ain't tasted that you ain't drunk milk. doc

Because the milk is flavored.

That is just your opinion.
I like plain chilled milk.
