Which foods give you a ton of energy?!
Answers:
Eating a balanced diet of unprocessed foods is best.
If you're looking for a quick boost. Dates are very high in natural sugars but also have fiber so it can provide you with energy but because it has fiber it won't give you the crash that refined sugars do.
Apples also are a great energy booster. The juicy crunch wakes up, and the fructose balanced again with fiber gives you a nice energy boost.
I start my mornings with two cups of fruit and a cup of lowfat plain yogurt and a teaspoon of honey. This gives me tons of energy for my workout without adding a lot of calories.
Long term energy (for a few hours) - nuts, beef jerky
Short term energy (before a run, exercising) - fruit, anything with high sugar content (hopefully healthy stuff though)
Remember that the short term stuff just gives you a boost of energy. For long term energy, proteins and exercise help give you more energy.
Instead of using caffeine to get energy eat an apple and you have no side effects but all the energy you need.
