For me, toast comes with memories. Eating breakfast together, lots of butter and jelly on it. Or the tuna melt made with toast. All happy times with your family. And when we were sick we got toast and hot tea. Toast at my house always came with love, even when my aunt would burn it!

Tiny microorganisms are in the heat waves from the toaster and when you take a bite of the toast, the microorganisms jump onto your tongue and start to tickle your taste buds. Some people get different reactions from this tickling sensation. Just make not to eat the toast extremely hot or the microorganisms attack your taste buds and it'll hurt.

Trust me.

Toast is awesome because of the Maillard Reaction.
The Maillard Reaction is what happens to food when it is exposed to heat and turns brown and develops a pleasant savory taste. Other foods which have the Maillard Reaction are mushrooms, and meat.

Toasting foods makes food taste better. Toasted nuts for example, are great even if you are putting them in foods that will get baked. You can taste the difference. Some kind of chemical reaction that our palates love.

I think when it's heated bread has more flavor. I love, love, love warm toasted garlic bread!

People like it that way i guess...
