Does anyone know where I buy a specialist oven to make Kurtos Kalacs Or Chimney cake?!
The cooked pastry is then rolled in a topping. I had chocolate. Its was amazing! I would like to set up a small coffee shop and sell these in it so I am looking to buy one of the ovens. Any ideas?

Hi.
I also saw the Kurtos kalacs being made when I was in Budapest, its pretty interesting and tastes great.
I am surprised that I haven't seen these around more in other European countries as the queues to buy them are always very long!
I have found one web site which looks interesting and its written in English but you can translate it into any language using the Google Translate button. There are lots of nice pictures on there and it states that they will deliver the machines any where in the world. www.kurtos-kalacs.com.
They also seem to be making a savoury chimney cake now, something like a pizza!. I can only imagine what that will taste like! I'll have to join the back of the queue again if ever I'm lucky enough to get to Budapest again.
Good luck with the new business, I am sure it will be quite a success!

I think, there is no special oven for Kürt?s kalács. Usually it's made on open charcoal fire, and the "secret" lies in the making of it. I was never seen a special oven to bake this cake.
