Does butter go well with bread?!

Question: Does butter go well with bread?
I bought some white bread at the store. It comes in this long "loaf" looking bar, and it's already cut up into...slabs I guess you would call them. Anyway - there is a TON of those slabs of bread in that package so I have to use it up.

Anyway - my boss is coming over for lunch tomorrow and I was thinking of serving the bread things..but what would I serve with it? I was thinking orange juice, but it seems to run right through the bread.

Then I remembered I had some of the butter stuff left over from the holidays.....

So - would the butter go with the bread?

Please help, I'm so confused and I just don't know what to do. I don't know why this has to be so confusing But I'm really need to impress my boss, as I REALLY need to keep my job as I'm working my way through culinary school.

Answers:

No, butter does NOT go well with bread. At all.
What goes with bread is any kind of liquid, maybe sprite? or pepsi?
Possibly try inedible things like pennies or some kind of plastic?
Good luck.

make french toast with bread, eggs, milk. Put the eggs in a bowl and whip them, then put milk in a bowl and add some cinnom to it and a dash of salt (small). Get a griddle or non stick pan and heat on medium heat with a little bit of oil and butter mixed together. Heat oil slighly and then put your bread in the eggs and then in the milk and drain slightly and add to the pan. Brown each side till golden brown. Serve with syrup and a glass of orange juice.
