Is it okay to eat these foods past their expiry date?!

Question: Is it okay to eat these foods past their expiry date?
These foods were bought from a store called Deal Mart.

Mini Pigs in a Blanket- Best by 12 13 2010
Kosher Dill Pickles- Sell by Dec 2010
Jimmy Dean Breakfast Entrees (Ham and Cheese Crossiant with seasoned potatoes and diced apples)- Use by Sep 15 2010
Cap'n Crunch- Best before Oct 15 2010

Will it hurt anything if I eat these foods?

Answers:

Expiry dates are more about quality than they are about spoilage. The best way to know if something is spoiled and could make you sick is to smell them. If they smell sour or off or like ammonia, they should be pitched.

Your "use by" date is the biggest of the red flags. Typically those items contain ingredients that can spoil more readily than other items with "best before" and "sell by" dates

Pigs in a blanket-good if frozen
Jimmy dean-good if frozen
good as long as the brine is not cloudy, definitely good if un opened.
cereal- good, maybe a little stale if opened.
Keep in mind those are sell dates to keep stock rotated. If its not moldy or rotten looking it is still edible. It may not be at its peak for quality, possibly freezer burned a little but definitely edible. as for pickles, pickling is a way to preserve food for storage. Enjoy your antique feast!

I would eat it. I have eaten older things and I am still here.

Hi cutie,

it wont hurt you, but you might get a tummy ache and be sick in the bathroom.

The kill pickles and the cap'n crunch are the most safe to eat at this point.

What's a doll like you eating expired foods?
