How to stop donuts getting 'damp'?!
Is there any way to stop/slow this happening?
Please don't just tell me to eat them, I'm genuinely wondering if there's a way to make them last longer.
Thank you!

>The reason why is probably because you are buying the sugar donuts and sugar absorbs water from the atmosphere. So to keep them from doing this, put them into a cardboard donut box. They will stay fresher that way, too.
The Dampness you are referring to is the glaze or icing breaking down. The quality of the glaze or icing
is probably the fault. The best you can do is keep them away from heat & humidity. Some Donut Shops such as Krispy Kreme seem to have a product that holds up longer without weeping. The best thing i could suggest is try some different Donut Shops & look at the product after they have set for a few hours to see how they are holding up.
I used to be in the Donut Business,so i know what you are experienceing.
Donuts like that don't really last. Air kills freshness.
Also they're bad quality even if they ARE delicious- the flour and shortening are like criso and go stale and soggy quick.
You have to airtight them= put them in a ziploc bag and squeeze all the air out, make the bag TOTALLY squashed out of air. Don't just put them in a ziploc and seal it- you have to make it without any air inside- this will help but not much.
Don't use plastic bags. Put it in a paper bag and don't pack it tight. You can have a plastic bag outside the paper bag, And it will keep.
