Actually.... I have always DESPISED cake!
Even as a kid... I would ask my mom to bake brownies for my birthday parties with all of my friends invited! She would bake me my batch of brownies, and would also buy a cake for all of my friends. haha
Still to this day... (I'm 21) I still hate cake. It's just dry...and crumb-y. I hate the consistency....and I hate the taste.

l do, especially lemon drizzle cake.
Make up a normal sponge cane but add some grated lemon zest. (Or orange zest.)
When cooked, pour over a mix of sugar and lemon or orange juice. It soaks into the sponge and gives a lovely sticky top. Loads of recipes online if you need one.
yellow cake is good
but chocolate cake is better (with butter cream or black forest cherry cake)
